The project aims at understanding the connections between the river VIshwamitri in Vadodara and various habitats for birds it is supporting and the role of native flora. The study analyses the ecological patterns formed through connecting various elements such as the vegetation and the river in creation of these habitat. A study on relation between various types of vegetation such as native grasslands, shrubs and trees Which form various edge conditions in creating niches for different type of bird species guided in exploring the symbiotic relationships between the vegetation and avifauna in the river and riparian ecosystems. This also forms the basis for understanding the reasons of defragmenting of these natural patterns which are degrading in time and helps in restoring similar sensitive ecosystems spread along the river Vishawamitri.
