H2Oasis - Enhancement of Shilaj Lake

Shilaj Lake was once a functioning ecosystem, but it suffered degradation, leading to its breakdown. This intervention aims to enhance the lake’s water quality, promote biodiversity, and transform it into a more habitable environment. The project also includes the development of a temple precinct and the addition of several community areas, which will, in turn, contribute to revenue generation.
Delving deeper, within the Social zone, a meticulous 1-acre area dedicated to a children’s park is designed in detail, which serves as a microcosm of the larger master plan. The planting plan for this park is meticulously designed to harmonize with the planned activities and experiences, placing a primary emphasis on the energy and perception of children. The planting palette is thoughtfully curated, boasting a rich assortment of textures, colors, and lines, each contributing to the dynamic and lively ambiance befitting a children’s space.
To gain a more profound understanding of the space and its potential, a small 10m x 10m transact within this play park has undergone a detailed planting design exploration, further enhancing the spatial composition. In the long run, the project’s overarching goal is the restoration of the site’s former grandeur, ultimately cultivating a verdant sanctuary within the midst of the urban sprawl, where nature thrives amidst the concrete jungle.
