Moist Evergreen Forest | Semi Evergreen Forest | Moist Deciduous forest
Southern Western Ghats
Cullenia - Mesua - Palaquim Series
Periyar National Park
The project uses the habitat of a songbird - the Blue Robin - as an analogy for the discontinuation of endemic fauna and evergreen flora, from the southern Western Ghats ridge to the undulated geological gaps. Its presence and absence reveals the points of transition of the forest.
The study throws light on the evanescence of the landscape, its systems, layers, and also its salient divisions. It imagines stretching the core of the evergreen forest to create a network it holds and nurtures, correlating with flora and fauna. Transition between these elements/ conditions/ systems is gradual but in flux, they need their unique distinctiveness by evolving in its entirety.
