Neighbourhood Living Place- an urban sanctuary in Delhi

This neighbourhood living place containing a tank, a pavilion and a vertical garden is in a dense urban residential area in Delhi. In summer, the empty tank acts as place for people to interact whereas in monsoon when the tank fills up, children can float paper boats and people can splash in 30cm deep water. The adjoining pavilion forms an intermediate between the street and the tank. It acts as a moment of pause for the people on the street and to discover the urban sanctuary. The vertical lattice allows plant life to flourish and form a vertical garden. During monsoon,  the lattice allows water from the roofs of the adjacent buildings to drip and cascade into the which lead to the percolation well to recharge the ground water.
