Set along the coast of Diu, the building was devised as a stone tablet which disappears into the landscape. Studying the design attitudes of the architect Eduardo Souto de Moura and his response to context, the building nudges itself into the ground between the existing mounds on the site. The views from the building to the sea - sometimes providing an open vista while sometimes blocked by cut rock surfaces - become reminders of the natural topography of the site. The form expressed by the stone mass with jutting out white masses also becomes a resultant of the organization within.
