A Place for Conservation & Research | Junya Ishigami

The concept of the proposed centre revolves around a trail in a rock garden facilitating research for the experts. The intent is to rehabilitate the damaged landscape, reviving the hydrology, the indigenous flora and fauna. This trail moves through various ecological zones offered by the landscape, connecting various networks in the programs and thus formalizing the trail with a roof offering shade in the harsh climate of Ambaji.
The centre is designed based on studying the architectural attitudes of Junya Ishigami. Approaching it as if you were putting together rocks and a garden, a little at a time, flexibly, unbound by architectural conventions, consciously, yet simply!
