Revitalizing the Old Stock Exchange Building, Ahmedabad

The Ahmedabad Share and Stock Brokers’ Association building at Manek Chowk is so heavily charged with traces of the evolution of the stock trading methods that it seems very similar to a palimpsest, still displaying the original structural fabric and design elements. Listed Grade I by the AMC, the site is in disrepair caused mainly due to abandonment led issues. The studio deals with the potential for positive change in terms of conservation, stakeholder discussions, structural consolidation strategies, revenue generating design proposal and re-connecting with the city.
