Steven Holl's originally proposed design- a triaxial post- tensioning system for Hangzhou in China was relocated to Ahmedabad. Triaxial Field is an event centre built as a part of the Sabarmati Riverfront Event centre. The factors considered after relocation were the construction technology restraints and the climate of Ahmedabad. Thus, The structural system adopted was a hexagonal waffle(the idea of triaxis). Holl's idea of continuing the landscape was retained by controlling the form,nature, slope and accessibilty to the roof. the orientation of the building is such that one enters from smaller volume and exposed to larger volume towards the river.
