The studio was an eye-opener to the amount of information that is stored within each structure. Not only the materiality and technological condition, but even the socio-political background can be understood from it. Through drawing, the we could translate all this information from the buildings into a usable data-set, and the technique of multiple perspectives allowed to put maximum data into a section.In architectural education, construction is seldom given as much importance as designing. Through my essay, "The Role of Precast Technology in Making the Architecture of Ahmedabad between 1930 and 1980", I realized how much the material and technology affects the built form of a place in a period. Link for the essay and process journal.
