Kankaria is already widely known for its recreation facilities and its heritage among the locals and tourists. The Maninagar area of Ahemdabad lacks adequate public performances spaces apart from the Sai Jhulelal open air theatre and the ill maintained Balwantrai hall on site. Though there is a mix of social and recreation activities , it lacks cultural ones which adds to the performing arts culture and engagement of the city. The project introduces a children’s theatre at Kankaria which in its essense is truly” by the children, for the children”. It is in synergy with its rich context of Kankaria which has a mix of children oriented activities to offer, attracting many kids. It attempts to form a landmark and become a prime location to host children-led family shows for not just for locals but for the floating population.
