N.I.D. Reoriented: Dining, N.I.D Shop & Students' Center

The NID campus aspired to respond to contexts of many kinds. Being able to let these relationships form, however, required the campus to reorient. At the intersection of the outside+inside of the campus, Paldi neighborhood+civic Riverfront, and the institutional+residential zones of the campus, lies this project. Here, dining, an activity common to every user group, comprises this threshold. To make the civic zone of NID, the shop also exists here. On its upper floor, dining extends, and also holds a students’ center. This ‘threshold’ building extends linearly, to associate with the compound wall on both ends.
