Re-Defining Barrens (Botanic Reserve)

In Nalsarovar, major chunk of available land is categorized as barren/uncultivated and of lesser yield typologies because of several issues like overgrazing, existing salinity ingress. Can these barrens be regenerated as reserves of ecological significance and in turn establishing newer cultural dependencies? Redefining barrens as a major reserve of native grasses unique to this region may help break the notion of barren as infertile lands devoid of vegetation. It aims to demonstrate various degrees of productivity in salt affected lands of the region through apt methods of reclamation to challenge the present perception of barrens among the community.
