Indian cultures have been tied to water since civilizations. With the development of the Sabarmati Riverfront, although the visual connection is there with the water, the physical connection and access has become severely restrictive. This project captures a potential site which is still witnessing a strong physical and religious connection with the river, but will soon disappear from the developmental pressure. The project catalyzes on aims at celebrating this religious belief of reviving the lost connection of people with water as per their religious beliefs along with providing a recreational zone for the future residents of the surroundings. Taking advantage of the existing stream corridor and infrastructure lines, the project It aims to develop spaces for already performed religious activities in a more dignified manner by providing an interface for human engagement with water without actually polluting it. Dual threads of religion and recreation are connected and disconnected at multiple points, curating a sense of discovery ted through experiences along the journey.
