With rampant urban flooding as well as the need to expand cities, the Urban greenways try to design multi-use systems that can fit in the blue-green infrastructure with different types of mixed use development. These urban greenways along the existing stream corridors could emerge as public, semi-public, or private spaces, but collectively act as sponges to provide flooding solutions. Flooding, mostly caused due to impervious surfaces and changing rainfall patterns, also causes water to end in storm-drains leading to groundwater depletion. Resilient landscape planning and solutions can be envisioned and implemented with less expensive system based solutions, which can also act as a catalyst for future projects and development. The project focuses on conserving, adapting and growing with challenging water situations.
