Beginning with the idea of a triangular module made out of timber that can take any shape, the structure evolved into a vault. Timber being a material that works well under compression is apt for arches as they are purely compression forms. The underlying geometry of the Tetratri Vault can be broken down into tetrahedrons and triangles. All the wooden members are square cross sections in 4 different lengths. The structure can be assembled using the prefabricated steel joineries.
