The first part of the studio involved case studies exploring the joinery and assembly details in structures of different materials. The second part was selecting a joinery of your choice and translating the same into a different material such that the core properties of the joinery remain the same. The third part constituted of designing a structure using that joinery. The final project here, is a skywalk over a highway or a connection between two platforms, consisting of a tensile roof structure supported by bamboo struts. This roof structure sits on a howe truss bridge with RCC slabs as flooring.
