Designing a Structure: Material, Construction and Details
he objective of the unit is to inquire and explore the ‘idea of structure’. This is achieved through a series of exercises by studying, examining and analyzing structural forms and its elements. With the knowledge of material properties (compressive-tensile-mix) students will develop a critical understanding about the interdependent relationship between form, its structural elements and design spaces. Further the study will explore climatic understanding, construction challenges and its detail.
