NovaMat: Exploring Material for the New Age

NovaMat, a material library within the GIDC Bhavan, serves as a hub for delving into the diverse realm of materials prevalent in architecture, interior design, and the product industry. Tailored primarily for students, faculty, and industry professionals, its mission is to deepen understanding of material applications and properties, with a particular focus on the efficiency-driven sectors of polymers, composites, and metals.
To mirror the modernity and efficiency of the materials it showcases, NovaMat's surfaces are crafted from plastic, supported by sleek frames that lend both visual appeal and structural stability. This meticulous design aesthetic creates a contemporary ambiance that aligns seamlessly with the narrative of industrial progress and technological advancements.
The design concept revolves around the integration of intersecting surfaces, with materials taking a center stage, supported by metal structures. This approach not only underscores the initiative's core objective of unraveling the intricacies of microarchitecture but also fosters an environment conducive to advanced design and innovation.
Through nuanced exploration of junctions and joineries within its structure , NovaMat aims to enhance understanding and inspire the creation of cutting-edge designs, thus propelling the industry forward into a future of innovation and excellence.
