The Deployable Wave

The project aims at achieving double curves out of a linear material using scissor systems with pin joints, which generates a deployable structure. Scissor structures are lattice expandable structures consisting of bars, which are linked by hinges or pin joints, allowing them to be folded into a compact bundle. The challenge is to create an anticlastic deployable using this system as a part of Computational Design Studio project.
