The project tries to explore the ideas of “surveillance” and “being on display” in a bank, a setting that is otherwise so secretive. These ideas were derived from a dollhouse which was originally a symbol of wealth and patriarchy, which after industrialization, became a children’s toy. The workspace explores these ideas by selectively revealing parts of the bank to the public in the botanical garden on the ground level. Taking most of the workspace below ground allows a play of shadows and curation of what is accessible to the public and what is not. Glasses of different transparencies throughout the space create shadows and reflections, creating an eerie and creepy atmosphere.
