Vijay Vilas Palace was built in the year 1920 as a summer retreat for the royalty. Located at 50 odd kilometres from the city of Bhuj and 8km from central Mandvi, the palace possesses a unique charm due to its proximity to the beach and dense forests. Carved out of sandstone, the palace complex was built by craftsman from places like Jaipur, Rajasthan, Bengal and Saurashtra, and local Kutchi artisan community.It will act as an immersive residency for creators, explorers, artists, entrepreneurs and storytellers to come together and produce something in collaboration. Place Alchemy is designed to help various artists of national and international repertoire to connect and create.
