This studio aims at solving need for furniture elements for work spaces by the design process and understanding of mass production of furniture. The emphasis of the studio will be at level of understanding of furniture elements with relation to interior spaces. The interior spaces and activities in it will become reference and starting point for the studio. Students will use furniture design tools i.e. elements, systems, visual language, technical and functional innovations etc. to solve the particular need. It also challenges students to consider different aspect of ergonomics and user comfort.
This studio will use extensive facilities of model making and production workshop of the university to produce study models and full-scale prototypes. The periodic industry workshop and visit to manufacturing facilities will be a part of studio learning.
