This project is an interpretation of the play Tughlaq by Girish Karnad into a stage for the same. The concept of seeing and being seen was prevalent throughout the play and has been built upon on the site Sarkhej Roza. The stage is a reflection of the existing steps on site with Taziya as a space making element for the different scenes. Taziya has been borrowed as a symbol of religion and death in the existing context of the space as well as the play. The stage is placed in the water tank which helps the site heighten its drama.
