Mehsana, also spelled Mahesana, is a city and municipality in Mehsana district, in the Indian state of Gujarat. The municipality was established in 1919–20. As of the 2011 India census, the urban-metropolitan population of Mehsana was 190,753. Main focus of the studio was to understand how small cities are functioning with the central government guidelines for different sectors. The focus of the study for myself was to understand sewerage and sanitation in the city. The process involved timely site visits and discussions with different heads, followed by surveys and stake holder discussions. On the basis of analysis of the gathered data few areas of improvement are identified for which proposal are detailed out along with operational and financial feasibility. The vision of the studio is to understand how can the central guidelines and funds allocated used in an efficient way to get the optimum benefits of the available schemes and policies.
