Solid Waste Management of Khadia Ward

Khadia ward is a one of the oldest part of the ahmedabad city with densed population. This ward has supporting activities like street vending, wholesale markets, eateries and also most of the pols of ahmedabad comes under khadia. The primary goal of solid waste management is reducing and eliminating adverse impacts of waste materials on human health and environment to support economic development and superior quality of life. AMC is planning to make zero waste management system in their SWM Master Plan-2031, so, main aim is to reduce the waste which are going to dumpsite.
As per MSW rules-2016 there should be segregation of waste and it should diverted from open dumping. Proposed model of "City Beautifier" aims to tackle all the issues and to make zero waste city, which is based on integration of waste pickers in door to door collection, segregation and recycling of waste. Content of proposals are working of model, expenditure for implementing the new model, Monthly and yearly maintainance etc.
