Nature-based solutions (NBS) offer an eco-centric approach to wastewater treatment (WWT), harnessing ecosystems' inherent water purification capacity while providing diverse benefits. This study assesses NBS avenues for WWT facilities, providing evidence-based recommendations. It explores NBS applications through literature reviews, case studies, and a comprehensive framework evaluated in Kachchh district, Gujarat. Field assessments highlight the need for a review of India's WWT regulations which providing insights into NBS consideration within wastewater regulations. The research concludes with recommendations to improve NBS avenues for WWT, serving as a foundation for informed decision-making and effective NBS implementation in India's wastewater treatment.
