The city of Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, faces a growing challenge in addressing the impacts of climate change. as Chennai prepares to release its third master plan in 2026, this project aims to address the gap between climate action planning and its effective integration into the city's development strategies. By focusing on the climate-sensitive Waste strategies from climate action plans and their integration into the third master plan, the goal is to ensure that the plan's objectives translate into tangible actions on the ground, ultimately creating a livable, sustainable, and economically vibrant future for Chennai. This study covered the areas starting with Problems of urbanization, climate change, and fractured governance then analyzing Boundary issues of CAP, Implementation challenges for CAP, and the Third Master Plan as a tool to implement a part of the CAP.
