A part of Shahpur ward was given as site for our area planning studio. Shahpur is located on the eastern side of Ahmedabad with close proximity to Sabarmati riverfront and walled city. The ward has a strong history of textile mills which is now replaced by commercial development. The theme which our group followed as part of this studio was “ Reviving social realm”. For this purpose, we had framed four proposals which cover the aspects like CBD, slum, vendors and open spaces. I have detailed out the proposal for vendors as a part of the studio.
