The purpose of this study is to investigate the possibilities of a mill land redevelopment located in Ahmedabad's eastern region. It suggests redeveloping the chawls and a shuttered textile mill. The foundation of the city's economy was the textile industry's prosperity. Thousands of people from all over the state worked in textile mills and lived in the chawls (Challis). When it comes to the city's demand for land, these areas have not been fully utilized. Redeveloping the land parcels to the needs of the micro-market presents the land owners with a significant potential to reap advantages. With the current laws and policies in place, this project attempts to investigate the development potential of such locations (closed textile mill lands, chawls).
