The inadequate understanding of urban infrastructure and lack of attention paid to cross-cutting issues often result in poor project formulation and, thus, inefficient service delivery. Such problems call for a need to evaluate the infrastructure projects of a city. This studio focuses on appraising a given city's existing WASH infrastructure components. The students would thus be able to critique the further need for infrastructure projects in the city, specifically for the domains of water, sanitation, stormwater and solid water. In addition, the students would be able to demonstrate intersectoral linkages that are prevalent in the urban realm. During this process, the studio equips the students with a broader understanding of the process of plan formulation, project identification, financial analysis and stakeholder engagement needed for executing an infrastructure project.
