With the ever increasing need for housing as the urban centers grow, the development trend in Ahmedabad has observed residential townships coming up along the fringes of the city, leading to increasing building footprint and significant loss of agricultural land. This greenfield development proposal intends to develop a model of urban growth that adopts eco-friendly strategies which integrate with and enhance the ecology of the surrounding landscape, thus making communities more environmentally sustainable. The Green District provides opportunity for people to engage with eco-friendly practices as a part of everyday life, hence making communities more environmentally responsible.
