BANGALORE METROPOLITAN REGION PLANNING

The objective of the Metropolitan Studio is to facilitate joint exploration of various facets of Metropolitan Planning. The delineation of Metropolitan areas, scope and content of their plans, the governance structure and their functional domains vary considerably in India. As far as regional plans are concerned, they have been largely extension of urban plans both in terms of processes and contents and have not been very effective. The studio is developed in three modules that deal with the most pertinent issues related to planning for metropolitan areas. So, began with the Module-1 by understanding of Metropolitan Area and its Planning by studying all plans of Bangalore Metropolitan Region (BMR). In Module -2 understood the Governance at BMR & issues related to it, to overcome the issues the international comparative study of Indian and International Cities were conducted. And in Module -3 proposed the strategic planning framework which consist of concepts, approaches and methods for sectoral projects at Metropolitan Scale by considering existing growth & development.
