The Strategic Transportation Plan gives a detailed idea about the existing scenario of the Vadodara and analyzing the travel pattern and characteristics of the transportation system, and then projecting the future demand taking horizon year as 2040 policy implementations and projects are suggested to meet the future demand. The various surveys are conducted such as Household survey, RSI, Road Inventory, Activity survey and the secondary data from various sources is collected such as accidents data, PT/IPT, to understand the current scenario of the city in each aspect. This portfolio says about the importance of urban freight and its situation. We all know that Urban Freight plays a vital role in the economy of the city. Vadodara is surrounded by many industrial sectors such as Sama, Waghodia, Por which are increasing the freight movement day by day. The city has a time restriction for the freight movement inside the Nh48 ring road, which carries heavy traffic flow of passenger as well as freight vehicles throughout the day and became as one of the major parts of the accidents caused by the freight vehicles. In the current scenario, freight vehicles are restricted during morning peak hours (7am-1pm) and evening peak hours (4pm-9pm). There is no dedicated parking as well as loading/unloading space for each industrial sectors inside the city. For the year 2040, all these aspects are considered taking vision of Vadodara will grow as an economic stronghold in the coming year by development in the surrounded industrial sectors which will increase the freight movement in the future. The policies and proposals are suggested to fulfil future demand such as Transport Nagar, Truck Terminals.
