An Adaptable Af(FAIR)

To address shopkeeper’s association with Ambli, this proposal aims to provide a catchment of customers at specific, inactive sites in Ambli. This project envisioned for the shopkeepers of Ambli sees itself serving not only the shopkeepers but every resident of the gaam. This shall further activate the space in all its presence. These sites shall in their physicalities, provide all the necessary public infrastructure needed for it to transform into a public space. Its adaptable nature shall make it open for use during all village-wide events, in the absence of a mela happening. This is done abiding by the minimum requirements of a shopkeeper imagined having a stall there. With collapsible roofs and columns, the plinths acting as platforms shall transform into seatings, the presence of shade shall facilitate its continued use. Through the organization of such melas, the dual identity of the user group as shopkeepers and residents shall be enlivened.
