Neighbourhood’-a collective module of urban elements such as buildings, streets, open plots, etc., introduced in 1900’s by Clarence Perry as a planning model for a residential region of a metropolitan area. It is one of the simplest and essential of all the urban forms that comprise a city which has been argued on various terms of sustainability, walkability, high-density, etc., Although the discussions on urban vitality has been pioneered by Jane Jacob, Jan Gehl, Kevin Lynch and many; the impact of urban form on its neighbourhood vibrancy has yet to be assessed both quantitatively and qualitatively, to derive an interrelationship between urban elements and its form. The report aims to objectify the relationship between urban elements and urban form, as a whole, to quantify the impact it creates on the vibrancy of an urban form. To substantiate the argument the report will employ the conclusions that are drawn by various theories formulated by the urban design pioneers.
