"Memnagar: A Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Precinct” depicts the analysis of the growth of the 1 sq.km. precinct in Memnagar, Ahmedabad bounded by the 132 feet ring road, 120 feet ring road and the Drive In road. With the advent of the Development Plan 2021 by AUDA, a vast portion of the precinct was incorporated into the R1 residential zone which allowed enhanced FSI for construction. The BRTS corridor and the upcoming Metro corridor pass over the 132 feet ring road and the Drive In Road, thus including a large portion of the precinct in the TOD zone which extends up to 200m on both sides of the road of the transit corridor. The book gets into details the visions of the planners while delineating the TOD corridor in Memnagar and the way the precinct has responded to the plans and policies of the planners.
