The Portfolio is a compilation of a study aiming to understand the key determinants behind the functioning of a city through the lens of a 1 sqkm study precinct. situated in south Kolkata. This understanding is based on the analysis of a series of layers concerning history, transformation, network and connectivity, built form, land development, public realms, water and sanitation infrastructure, governance and choices made for housing livelihood and commute. The inferences and conclusions are derived from comparative analysis with similar sized precincts across 80 urban centers spread around the country.
