Thrissur : An example of Indian Broadacre city

Mannuthy, the satellite town of Thrissur is a region in central Kerala where inhabitants can live an opulent life in any pandemic situation. They are completely independent in terms of managing their livelihood. 98% of the settlements are detached bungalows which enables individual households to own a house within a plot which has enough setbacks so that residents can customize it in their own way. This “n” number of ways in which setbacks are utilized are compared with the concept Broadacre City to understand the similarities and Goregaon in Mumbai to see how urbanized cities are utilizing their open spaces in the setbacks.
