ELEMENTS OF URBAN DESIGN | SEMESTER 02

The urban design studio began by analyzing a local project in any city, the Crown Road Development in Auroville was analyzed. This was followed by studying La Rambla street in Barcelona, known for its vibrancy and diverse activities. Urban blocks were then examined, focusing on Giardino Valentino Bompiani in Milan's heritage precinct, notable for its well-functioning street network and smooth traffic flow. Finally, attention shifted to designing public spaces in Ahmedabad, with Chandola Lakefront chosen as the site due to its significance as the city's largest lake and potential for urban intervention.
