Over four months, twelve students split into four groups, guided by teachers and assistants, devised a development plan for Ahmedabad, Rajkot, Surat, and Bhopal. Each month, a phase of the plan was completed through four iterations, culminating in presentations to an external expert panel. Ongoing discussions with instructors, assistants, and stakeholders enhanced the project. Key focuses included adopting a liberal zoning approach, integrating land-use with transport systems, and addressing Surat's economic growth while preparing development plan for the city robust enough to accommodate unforeseen circumstances. This comprehensive plan aimed to foster sustainable development, equitable transport, and ecological sensitivity across the city, setting a precedent for urban planning practices.
