The portfolio summaries a detailed study of Development PLan-2041 of Rajkot. It reflects upon the planning process carried out to make a development plan of a city. The initial study contained the introduction of the planning on a small scale at a 1 sqkm precinct level. To enhance the firsthand experience of planning, a comparative study of two different development plans of two cities was done. The real planning of an urban area started with the making of Rajkot Development Plan-2041. Initially, the existing situation analysis was done along with studying the current growth patterns and trends. Henceforth, the approach and initial concepts were worked upon to derive a broader vision and key objectives for the development plan. Finally, the proposals for road network, zoning with DCRs and different other proposals were done. The overall costing with funding mechanisms and phase wise implementation were also derived.
