As a part of Urban Infrastructure Plan Studio for Mehsana, Gujarat, a detailed project report on Faecal Sludge Management for 3 pilot peripheral villages was formulated considering the existing potentials in the area. On mapping sanitation index zone-wise and village-wise for Mehsana, certain areas were identified that needed interventions urgently. Considering these areas for pilot project, a well defined value chain of Faecal Sludge Management was proposed which serves re-use opportunities of using compost as manure for agricultural activities by farmers.
