The urban agglomeration, with growth in population, increases the pressure on services and the urban local bodies’ need a strategic plan to meet the demands and expectations. To address the present and emerging infrastructure needs and service delivery gaps in Mehsana, we are to propose a city Infrastructure development and investment strategy for coming 10 years. The key objective of the strategy is to formulate a development strategy for meeting the emerging challenges of infrastructure and create enabling environment for the growth of local and regional economy. The aim is to develop competencies in making comprehensive Development Plan (DP). The Objective: To develop a City Infrastructure Plan and Investment Plan-CIIP, through City Assessment, visualised for a 10 year horizons for the city of Mehsana.The main objectives of the CIP preparation are: 1. Focused attention on integrated development of infrastructure and services. 2. Provide secure effective linkages between asset creation and asset management so that the infrastructural services created in the cities are not only maintained efficiently but also become self- sustaining over time. 3. To ensure adequate investment and appraisal of funds to fulfill deficiencies in urban infrastructural services. 4. Planned development of the city including Peri-urban areas, out growths, urban corridors, so that urbanization does not takes place in a haphazard manner. 5. Scale up the delivery of civic amenities and provision of utilities with emphasis on universal access to the urban poor.
