A city should be just and equitable where planning is done at the grassroot level understanding the context and nature of space, a just city is a city where the communities are the experts of their neighbourhood following bottom -up approach for healthy and happy neighbourhoods. Local leaders and contractors become the main stakeholders in the decision making process. The city will not only have happy homes, but happy streets as well. Where streets are regarded as critical public spaces that lend richness to the social, civil and economic fabric of the communities, which are much more than means of mobility. A report published by UN- habitat said that,those cities that have failed to integrate the multi- functionality of streets tend to have lesser infrastructural development, lower productivity and a poorer quality of life.Therefore, it can be said that a city is a living organism made up of many elements and systems, where one system cannot work individually, they are all interconnected and interdependent. A city is by the people and for the people.
