JAIPUR: A HERITAGE GEM

The project in the Royal Precinct of Jaipur's walled city aims to revitalize urban heritage by leveraging the area's existing tangible and intangible heritage to create a seamless and vibrant urban experience. Through meticulous identification of underutilized spaces, such as vacant lots and neglected buildings, the project seeks to transform these areas into dynamic cultural hubs and community gathering spaces. These revitalized spaces will be designed to elevate Jaipur's intangible heritage legacy, incorporating elements of traditional crafts, music, and performing arts to celebrate the city's rich cultural heritage. Furthermore, the project focuses on connecting anchor points within the Royal Precinct, including iconic landmarks like the City Palace and Hawa Mahal, through pedestrian-friendly pathways and cultural corridors. By enhancing connectivity between these anchor points, visitors can explore Jaipur's heritage sites seamlessly, experiencing the interconnectedness of its tangible and intangible heritage. Preservation and adaptive reuse of heritage structures will also play a crucial role, ensuring that historical buildings continue to contribute to the area's cultural identity while accommodating contemporary uses. Through community engagement and participation, residents will be actively involved in the project, fostering a sense of ownership and pride in their heritage-rich neighborhood. Overall, the project aims to create a dynamic and culturally rich environment in the Royal Precinct, preserving Jaipur's urban heritage while embracing its future.
