Bapunagar is located in the eastern part of the city. It was established immediately after post-independence, due to the mills that came to exist during that period. The economic structure and land use of the ward has constantly evolved since then. These different economic activities make Bapunagar, a vibrant economy. The ward has a diverse set of economic activities starting from various kind of commercial activities to various kind of household industries and vendors all throughout the ward. The Household industries include Agarbatti industry, bulb-holder etc. that comprise 55% of the total ward and small scale industries include Diamond industry, Embroidery industry that comprise of 20% and 15% respectively whereas vendors comprise of 10% of the total ward. The dependency on these industries of the people is quite high as these small scale and household industries are a major factor on which their livelihood depends.
