Gandhinagar Station Redevelopment Project is a part of the national level station redevelopment program in which 510 railway stations are redeveloped to international standards through Public-Private Partnerships. Gandhinagar Railway station was one of the first stations identified for the redevelopment program. Indian Railway Station Development Corporation (IRSDC) with the help of Government of Gujarat formed a Special Purpose Vehicle called Gandhinagar Railway and Urban Development Corporation (GARUD) to look after the project. The project includes converting the existing station to a world-class station and development of 5 Star Category 300 rooms hotel on the airspace of the station.
