The purpose of the structure designed was to create a space which was not concealed to itself but it allows the people interact with their surroundings while being under a roof. The structure when in undeployed form takes the shape of a flower and when it opens it gives a sensation of a blooming flower, thus it got its name. The structure is based on scissor mechanics. The structure is based on a simple scissor mechanism vault but the span of structure keeps changing at various points, and because of that it got its elliptical shape.
