Lean-Led Improved design process in health care projects
Health care projects are well known for their complexities in planning, design, construction and operation phases. Health care professionals have been attracted towards lean principles to manage theses complex phases in more effective manner and deliver value to the users of healthcare facility. There exist a variety of lean tools which can aid the health care design process and it is important to select an appropriate lean tool in the context of a health care project and health care design firm. Further, it is important to ensure the application of these lean tools in the spirit of collaboration with the design team and other stakeholders. In this context, this DRP proposal aims to conduct an action research study in an healthcare design firm for lean led design process with potential application of lean tools like value stream mapping and choosing by advantage.
