Study of EPC Model for Redevelopment of Ahmedabad Railway Station and Construction of Associated Infrastructure.

The country's railway stations, and associated infrastructure are being renovated by the Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA), a statutory organization under the Ministry of Railways. It has been determined to carry out the Redevelopment of Ahmedabad Railway Station and construction of related infrastructure through an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract as part of this endeavor. The scope of work will primarily include dedicated access roads (Elevated/At-Grade), Multi Modal Transit Hub (MMTH) Buildings, Iconic Building, Parcel Building, MLCP, development of surrounding circulation area, etc., and execution of work for Redevelopment of Ahmedabad Railway Station and construction of associated infrastructure on Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) mode. The proposed DRP intends to capture how a railway station redevelopment project is procured. This will be inclusive of understanding the procurement model for contractor and project management consultant, i.e., preparation of project and detailed project report, preparation of bid document, project estimate, bid drawings, pre-bid queries, related corrigendum, different schedules of the bid and shall form the basis of the study. The methodology will be inclusive of studying other similar redevelopment projects, detailed projects, and other relevant literature. The study shall provide insights on large scale projects that are procured. The observations and findings of the study shall be helpful for industry professionals, researchers, and practitioners.
